How can you outperform non-sustainable businesses?

EY, Europa Forum Lucerne and Green Business Switzerland have joined forces to tackle some of today’s most pressing sustainability issues – to get inspired, to learn and to have a positive and lasting impact for all of us. By investing in thought leadership now, we want to shape a greener future for our clients, our communities and our children.

In a series of sustainability events, hosted by sustainability executives of Swiss-based international companies, we will shine the spotlight on challenges, trends and best practices around sustainability as well as ambitions to decarbonize businesses. Deepdive interviews, corporate case studies and expert panel discussions will deliver unprecedented insights – and concrete calls to action.

Following on from our highly successful first event with industry leader Tetra Pak, we’re now shifting the focus to financial services. We’re excited that BlackRock has agreed to host the second session as we turn our attention to sustainability as a competitive advantage. BlackRock Switzerland’s Country Head Mirjam Staub-Bisang will be joined by Beat Hess, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LafargeHolcim, and Dr. Suzanne Thoma, CEO of BKW Group. We are looking forward to fascinating insights from an investor lens point of view and from concrete challenges in real economy use cases.

The event took place on July 7, 2021. The recording of the webinar and a summary is available at the site «Insights».

EY Carbon and sustainable finance As COP26 is coming up it is high time for commitment for nations, corporates and financial institutes. The Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) a coordinating alliance that brings together existing and new net zero finance initiatives into one sector-wide strategic forum. The ultimate goal of this is to reorient capital flows from fossil brown to green. This investor pressure is increasing globally and felt by large corporates in Switzerland. Companies have to present credible plans of how they steer through the decarbonization transformation. Aside from the obvious risks we also see outperformance opportunities by identifying the winners and losers of this transition.
